There are so many things I don’t know or understand, but of one thing I am certain. If I need an answer for myself or someone else, I always have an answer that never fails: “Take it to the Lord in prayer and listen for His answer.”
There have been many times when God gives me an answer immediately through scripture – either reading it or being reminded of what I have read and kept in my heart.
There have been times when someone is talking with me and we realize that our Father has taught us the same lesson, through different life experiences or moments.
Other times, a thought God has whispered into my heart is confirmed by a song on the radio or a post someone has written.
There are times, too, when the answers are not quickly forthcoming, and I know that I’m to faithfully wait for my Father’s perfect timing.
Sometimes, I may not get to know the answer I think I need to know. God knows exactly what I need or don’t need, and I can trust Him completely.
No, I don’t have all the answers, but I know the One Who does! (Psalm 3:4 NIV I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.)
No, I haven’t learned all I’m to learn yet, but Jesus said we will be taught by the Holy Spirit. (John 14:26 NIV But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you)
So, for today, I will ask for my Father’s guidance as I seek to serve Him and share His love with others. And if anyone asks me a question, I will tell them what I will tell myself when I have questions, “Take it to the Lord in prayer and listen for His answer.”
