Living the Dream

The end of a long-desired goal to hold a book I’ve written in my hands is in sight. To celebrate, a friend gathered five of us together for a wonderful lunch.  Later, one of the friends gave me a card stating, “I am so happy that you are living your dream.”

Thinking about her words and her sincere happiness for my “almost there achievement” I realized, once again, how grateful I am for all the blessings God has shared with me.

Having friends who encourage and celebrate with me is a treasured gift. My thoughts were, “I enjoy the finer things in life, like these wonderful women who take time out of their busy workday schedules to visit with me.”

As I started mentally listing my blessings, I understood, once again, that all I am and all I have and all the blessings I value are because of God’s amazing grace.  He sent his son, Jesus Christ, so that we can have an abundant life here and an awesome heavenly eternity. Accepting the gift of salvation, we belong to the family of God. We have promises that our Heavenly Father will be with us, that he will comfort us, that he will direct our steps, and that we can truly trust him in all our circumstances.

When we seek to be aware of God’s presence in our everyday moments, we are surrounded by unconditional love. Our joy is overflowing as we relax in our Heavenly Father’s care. Basking in his love, we appreciate even more the love of our family and friends.
