The Right Song

Having a trying day, anxiety set in as my thoughts tumbled round and round, with no solution in sight. I was trying to figure out a step-by-step plan, and having no success. I prayed, not really being still and waiting for an answer, and kept on trying. Finally, taking a time out and talking with my husband, the tears flowed. I didn’t realize the stress was that overwhelming, but looks like it was.

As we were finishing our conversation, I heard music coming from my husband’s iPad and asked, “What is that song?” He said, “Listen. You need this right now.”

Sitting still, finally, and listening, the words of the song began to seep into my being. The song was “One Day at a Time” and the words were exactly the words I needed to hear.

My tumbling thoughts stopped and peace settled in as I was reminded that God never forsakes us. He encourages us, comforts us, and loves us dearly.

I know, because at just the right moment, God used my husband to play just the right song with the words I needed to hear.  What an awesome God we serve!
