Hold On

 Isaiah 42:5-6 (NKJV)

THOUGHT FOR TODAY: “I, the LORD, have called You in
righteousness, And will hold Your hand;”
Isaiah 42:6a

Stopped at a red light on our downtown’s main street, I glanced around at the steady flow of traffic.

On my left, waiting at the crosswalk, I saw a mom holding her toddler son’s hand.  Behind her, on the grass a couple of feet away, sat her little girl. As the signal to “walk” flashed, the mom called out, “JoAnn, come on.”  Running to catch up, JoAnn and her family crossed the street safely.

I let out the anxious breath I’d been holding.

The mom had held the boy’s hand and a package in the other hand, leaving JoAnn without a hand to hold.

I thanked God when they were safely on the other side of the street. I asked Him to
protect JoAnn and her family.

After praying for them, I understood the security of our Father’s care.  His hands are never too full to protect us. Once we are His, the connection between us cannot be broken.  He never leaves us on our own, without His care. He never lets us go. His hold on us is strong and secure as He guides us in our walk with Him.

PRAYER: Thank you, Father, for being protective of us. Thank
You for never letting us go. Help us to walk where You lead. In Jesus’ name.
